Dr. Angela Kingdon
Autistic Advocate • Author • TEDx Speaker • Cultural Researcher
Dr. Angela Kingdon is an autistic advocate, bestselling author, and TEDx speaker whose work redefines how we understand autism—not as a disorder, but as a culture. She is the founder of The Autistic Culture Institute and host of the Autistic Culture Podcast, a 2025 Stevie Gold and Digital Women Purpose-Led Podcast award-winning show that celebrates the creativity, communication, and community of autistic life.
Her recent book, Am I Actually Autistic?: Your Guide to Processing the Identity Shock of Late Autism Discovery & Living Unmasked, has become a touchstone for the late-diagnosed community. Angela’s talks, writing, and research explore how identity, autonomy, and belonging shape well-being for autistic adults.
Based near Bristol, England, she serves on the editorial board of Neurodiversity Journal, as a Youth Mentor for Grove Neurodiversity & Educational Mentoring, is a peer support worker with AuDHD UK, and conducts critical autism research at the University of Kent, where she recently completed her MSc in Psychology. A doctoral graduate of the European Graduate School’s Philosophy, Art & Critical Thought Division, Angela brings a cultural lens to psychology—bridging science, story, and lived experience.
Her work has been featured on ITV, Apple News, Bristol Live, and Bella Magazine, and she is a sought-after speaker on topics including Autistic culture, the so-called late-diagnosis “epidemic,” and neuroinclusive leadership in the age of AI.
